Dharmakaya and the Trungram Tradition

Teaching and Meditation Centers and Groups

For beginning practitioners and individuals with a more general interest in Buddhism, Dharmakaya's centers and practice groups teach philosophy, meditation and specific Buddhist practices.

For those individuals ready to delve deeper into Buddhist practice and are ready to have a more 'full-time' experience, Dharmakaya offers a retreat center for both short-term and long-term retreats.

Boston Meditation Group

The Boston Mediation Group is now meeting every other week on Monday nights. The first teaching occured on October 24th with Rinpoche leading the teaching. We gather for bi-weekly meditation seesions at locations in both Cambridge and Boston. Whether you have practiced in the past or are interested to learn more, everyone is welcome to join. New mats and sitting pillows have just been purchased, so no need to carry anything - just come - and let your brain calm down for a while!

New York Meditation Group

The meditation group in New York City meets once a week for group practice. It follows a curriculum given by Rinpoche. The group started as a practice gorup using UTBF's global curriculum in late 2003 with Khenchen Rinpoche's visit and a subsequent teaching by Rinpoche. In November 2005, it has adopted new arrangements similar to the Boston group.

Shamatha mediation is the current focus. After meditation, some time is spent studying Buddhist classics. This program is open to all and coordinated by students. We help each other by creating a good atmosphere for practice and encouraging each other to experience the teachings.

MAHAMUDRA HERMITAGE

We are pleased to announce creation of a new retreat center in New York State. The Mahamudra Hermitage will be located on 90 acres of pristine wooded countryside in the peaceful hillside village of Cragsmoor - just 90 minutes north of New York City.

The primary goal of the Mahamudra Hermitage is to offer a place of quiet where serious practitioners can accomplish the traditional Buddhist retreat of three-years-three-months-and-three-days. This is an unusual offering in the west, where the retreat master, Khenchen Rinpoche, will share his knowledge of this important training.

There will also be a place for retreatants whose lives do not allow for such long periods away from family, work or other responsibilities. Short-term retreats will be offered in a separate location on the Hermitage grounds.
