Progress Timeline

The Mahamudra Hermitage projected was started in 2001. Much of the preparation of the land has been done, thanks to the persistent efforts and patience of Gyaltrul Rinpoche, generous donors and helpers.
  Oct. 25, 2005 First formal meeting with Town Planning Board. Submission of application for environmental assessment.
  Mar. 2005 Engineering studies commence for determination of septic, water, stormwater, and environmental requirements. Biweekly conference calls commence with Project Architect, Project Manager and Engineering Team to monitor progress of engineering and entitlement work.
  Mar. 2005 Lama Tashi took his 4th trip to USA for Cragsmoor land design changes.
Mar. 2005 The Building Department of the Town of Wawarsing acknowledged that the land is appropriate for a special permit for religious use under the Zoning Code.
Dec. 11, 2004 Rinpoche announced the preparation of the Mahamudra Merit Committee which is to be the main fund raiser for the construction of Mahamudra Hermitage.
  Nov. 1, 2004 1st meeting with the architect - Cerniglia & Swartz, joined by Rinpoche, Bart Mendel, and John Henderson
Sep. 12, 2004 Rinpohce gave Peace Talk for Peace Pole Day in Cragsmoor. Mr. and Mrs. O'Shea hosted a welcome reception for Rinpoche and the Mahamudra Hermitage project at Irene Seeland's house.
Aug., 2004 Interviewed numerous architects, and selected Cerniglia & Swartz as our architect - interviewed by Owner Representative John Henderson.
Jul. 24, 2004 Cragsmoor land purchased under Dharmakaya
  Oct., 2003 Lama Tashi's 3rd trip to USA for Cragsmoor land master plan
  Aug., 2003 NYC group practice started
Aug., 2003 1st Meeting: Project Manager - Bart Mendel, Research Specialist - Suzan Garner, and Lama Tashi, with Engineering - Rettew Eng.
