Rinpoche Travels Through Asia

Rinpoche spent the months of December 2014 and January 2015 traveling through Asia, meeting with disciples and offering teachings and empowerments to many hundreds of people.

After a stay in Hong Kong, during which he gave an inspirational two-day teaching, including a Milarepa Empowerment and puja, Rinpoche went on to Taipei. There, on December 27 he gave a Dharma teaching and Thousand Arm Avalokiteshvara empowerment in Liberty Square. More than 200 people were in attendance, twenty of whom took refuge from Rinpoche after the empowerment. Two weeks later, on January 10, he traveled to Taichung, a municipality in the center of Taiwan, where he gave a teaching on the theory and practice of meditation. People from across Taiwan traveled to this event—as did many from Hong Kong.

His trip culminated with a teaching in Kinmen, a small island in the Sea of Taiwan. Twenty years ago Rinpoche visited the island; a disciple there offered his house as a teaching and meditation center. Five men took refuge from Rinpoche and since then have dedicated themselves to running the center, expanding the Trungram Tradition of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Kinmen. This was Rinpoche’s first trip back in ten years—and was a time of great excitement and rejoicing.
